How to use Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit:
1. Remove any dirt, dust or debris from the headlight. Mask around the edges of your paint near your headlight to protect the paint from accidental damage.
2. Attach 1000 grit finishing disc to hand pad. Maintain or keep the finishing disc wet by dunking it into a small container with water or spraying water directly onto the disc. Sand the headlight in a smooth uniform side to side motion with overlapping passes. Frequently wet he disc for lubrication. Continue sanding until headlight appears evenly frosted. Wipe the headlight dry.
3. Remove the 1000 grit disc and attach the 3000 grit disc to the hand pad. Sand the headlight thoroughly in a smooth uniform up and down motion with overlapping passes. Make sure to maintain a wet finishing disc by dunking it into a small container of water or spraying water directly onto the disc.
4. Attach Meguiar's wool polishing pad to a corded drill.
5. Apply a nickel-sized amount of Meguiar's PlastX Polish to pad. Place pad face flatly on the surface to be restored, then tilt pad to one side (increases user control) before activating drill. Use a slow, back and forth, continuous overlapping motion to treat a small area at a time. Heavy pad pressure is not required. Do not use the pads edge. Alter drill speed as needed. PlastX can be applied at all drill speeds, however faster speeds will produce more cutting and polishing action. Faster drill speed may increase the difficulty of keeping the pad flat against the surface.
6. Remove product immediately before it has a chance to dry with a microfiber towel. Raepply PlastX as necessary and continue buffing until headlight is clear. Apply and remove PlastX with a microfiber towel by hand for a final buff.
7. Spray headlights with glass cleaner to remove all product residue and wipe clean and dry with a microfiber towel.
8. Ensure the headlight surface is clean and dry. Apply the Headlight Coating to the gray applicator pad. Begin to apply the coating from top to bottom evenly. Continue working your way across the headlight with overlapping strokes until the entire headlight has been treated. Repeat process on other headlight. Product dries to the touch in 15 minutes. Product fully cures in 24 hours. It is recommended to keep headlight clean and dry while the coating fully cures.
